This international conglomerate needed a new local hub in Seattle -- and needed it to match the company’s existing aesthetic. While normally we work on a 1-1 replacement, there is always room for flexibility. This TI was perhaps the hardest we’ve worked on, providing alternative yet similar models to the expensive and unavailable pieces that were originally specified by HQ. The ask was to get as close as possible while still keeping the service term ‘intact’, still providing our wrap-around EaaS services.
While normally we baseline off of the existing equipment, the client allowed us to baseline our efficiency bill off of the legacy lighting that they were going to use. We took their largely fluorescent specification and provided LED alternatives, measuring the savings from this new, alternative scenario. Creating a slightly artificial energy calculation -- with usage and billing still based on the submeters that we have installed -- is something we can do but does require more coordination with our project managers before starting the service term.
The most important thing is that we’re being transparent and accountable to the efficiency and long-term health of the upgraded system.
